# Timezones
It is important to set your viewing timezone in the domain settings. Cabin stores data grouped by day according to the timezone setting. You can always change the timezone in the domain settings.
TIP
Please note: Changing the timezone takes effect immediately and only affects data going forward. It is not applied retroactively.
What happens during Daylight Savings Time?
If your timezone supports daylight savings time (opens new window) then one of two things can happen:
- When DST starts: The final hour will be double-stacked. The hour occurred twice, so both of those hours are aggregated.
- When DST ends: The first hour is missing. The hour did not exist, so it is not part of the data.
